On May 23, defense counsel in a 2022 homicide case requested a postponement before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn.

Defense attorney Lawrence Rosenburg, who represents Keith Luckey, informed the court he needed more time to go through and observe all the evidence in order to proceed to trial.

The assistant state’s attorney assigned to the case had no plea offer beyond the max penalty for the 43-year-old defendant.

Luckey, 43, is charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm during felony violent crime, use of an assault weapon containing a magazine, and reckless endangerment in connection to the murder of 35-year-old Kevin Abel Torres Guerrero on Nov. 7, 2022.

According to a Baltimore Police Department (BPD) news release, on the day of the incident, officers were called to the 4000 block East Lombard Street for reports of a shooting. On arrival, officers found Guerrero with an apparent gunshot wound to the body.

Judge Phinn scheduled the defendant’s next hearing for July 3.
