A defendant pleaded guilty to having a loaded handgun on his person in connection to a November 2023 shooting of a 35-year-old man in a June 17 hearing.

Quincy Johnson, 46, acknowledged guilt in front of Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland, while being represented by defense attorney Brandon Taylor

While originally charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, having a loaded gun on his person and discharging a gun in Baltimore City, Johnson only pleaded guilty to having a loaded handgun on person.

The prosecution offered five years, suspending six months, giving credit for the time he has been incarcerated. Johnson will also serve two years of supervised probation and register as a gun offender.

According to a Baltimore Police Department press release, on Nov. 8, 2023, officers responded to the 3900 block of Erdman Avenue, where they found a 35-year-old man with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Johnson was arrested Feb. 7.
