On July 18, attempted murder defendant Tyree Reynolds entered a plea of guilty before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Cynthia H. Jones.
Reynolds, 19, was initially charged with first and second-degree attempted murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm use during a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person, and having a gun within 100 yards of the public in connection to a shootout on July 9, 2021.
The prosecutor presented a plea of 15 years suspending all but 8 with three years on probation for first-degree assault and 5 years without parole for use of a firearm during a violent crime. The charges are set to run concurrently.
Reynolds was represented by defense attorney John Cox.
According to court documents, the incident started with a shooting that happened on July 8 just after midnight near the intersection of North Rosedale Street and West North Avenue. The other individual involved in the shootout fired the initial shot in what appeared to be a dispute.
Both individuals arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds.
According to the prosecutor, Antone Towson, 29, the other suspect in the shooting, is slated to accept a plea deal in August.
