A jury found Devon Young, 24, guilty in a Lorelly Avenue shooting that resulted in the death of a 19-year-old man.

Young was accused of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, firearm possession with a felony conviction and firearm use possession in a felony violent crime. On July 30, the jury found him guilty of all counts except first-degree murder.

The case was argued before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Robert K. Taylor, Jr. and Young was represented by David Walsh-Little.

During the trial, a crime lab technician and a Baltimore Police Department (BPD) officer explained how two phones were used to connect Young to the crime. An FBI agent also explained how he used data from one of the phones to place Young at the crime scene.

According to documents from the District Court of Maryland, the incident occurred on Jan. 27, 2022, at around 10:45 p.m. on the 4800 block of Lorelly Avenue. BPD officers responded to a call for a shooting and found Damond Price, 19, with multiple gunshot wounds. Price was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and pronounced deceased two days later.

No sentencing has been scheduled yet for Young.
