A December trial date was scheduled in the case of an 18-year-old Baltimore resident who allegedly shot and killed a 26-year-old man in November 2020.

Devin Shadle’s case was the only homicide case on the postponement court docket in Baltimore City Circuit Court on June 16 before Judge Melissa M. Phinn.

Shadle, who is represented by defense attorney John Cox, rejected the prosecution’s plea offer of a life sentence, and a trial date was scheduled for Dec. 8.

According to CBS Baltimore, Baltimore police were called to the 2400 block of Carroll Street for reports of gunfire on Nov. 7 at approximately 5:04 a.m. When officers arrived, they found Greenbelt resident Sharif Stewart, 26, sitting in the passenger side of a car with multiple gunshot wounds.

Stewart died a short time after being taken to Shock Trauma.

Shadle was arrested the same day after he was identified by a witness.
