A pair of homicide co-defendants were specially set for a five-day trial in October in Baltimore City Circuit Court.

During reception court on March 21, the prosecution and defense attorneys Koryn High and George Harris, who represent Deangelo Rogers and Jermaine Sanders, respectively, agreed on a trial date of Oct. 17 before Judge Charles Blomquist.

Rogers, 25, and Sanders, 31, are both charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery as well as several firearms charges.

Prior to settling on a trial date, the prosecution offered Sanders a plea of life, suspending all but 50 years, for first-degree murder. However, the defendant rejected the offer.

No plea was discussed for Rogers.

According to charging documents, a witness told police that Rogers was responsible for setting up a drug exchange with the two victims, one of whom was fatally shot, on the 500 block of N. Curley Street. Sanders allegedly joined Rogers during the incident, which left the other victim injured.
