Baltimore Man Sentenced to 80 Years for Gas Station Double Shooting

A 37-year-old man accused in a gas station double shooting from last May was sentenced to a total of 80 years during an April 13 hearing before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Videtta A. Brown.

The sentence comes two months after the defendant, Antonio Grant, was convicted late March on two counts of first-degree assault and four gun offenses. Jurors reached their verdict the day after attorneys wrapped arguments in the case. Of his initial 10 charges, Grant was acquitted of four counts of attempted murder.

The defendant was initially charged in a May 5, 2025 double shooting that occurred at a Carroll Motor Fuels gas station on the 2800 block of Edmondson Avenue. Though neither victim was struck in the gunfire, the state maintained Grant acted with intent to kill. Investigators later recovered seven spent casings from the gas station’s parking lot.

For the two assault charges, Judge Brown sentenced Grant to 50 years. He received a consecutive 30 years for the four firearm violations. He will be ineligible for parole for the first 15 years of his term.

In an April 13 press release, State’s Attorney Ivan J. Bates commended the attorneys who prosecuted Grant’s case and condemned the violence enacted against the two victims.

“This kind of brazen violence has no place in our neighborhoods, and today’s sentence sends a clear message that under my administration, those who endanger innocent lives will be held fully accountable,” Bates said.

Though case records show that Grant’s defense counsel filed a notice of appeal on April 14, the court has yet to confirm further scheduling.
