A 53-year-old Baltimore man charged with attempted murder had his reception hearing postponed until tomorrow due to counsel’s inability to pick a trial date before defendant’s Hicks date.

Eric Ashely Harcum, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, second-degree murder, two counts of fire and second-degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment, and two counts of use of a deadly weapon with intent to injure in connection with an incident on March 5, 2021.

During reception court on April 4, Judge Melissa M. Phinn postponed the hearing until tomorrow due to the fact that counsel could not agree upon a trial date.

The prosecutor indicated that the defendant was making incriminating statements, and he has concerns that the defendant has mental health issues.

Harcum’s next hearing is scheduled for April 5.
