In lieu of going to trial, an attempted murder defendant accepted a plea offer on June 20 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Barry G. Williams.
Stevenson Reid, 49, was charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony violent crime, reckless endangerment, illegal possession of ammunition, carrying or wearing a handgun on his person, carrying a loaded handgun on his person and firing a gun within Baltimore City and two counts of firearm possession with a felony conviction for his involvement in an Aug. 12, 2023, shooting.
Reid pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree murder and firearm use in a felony violent crime. The plea agreement requires Reid to serve 30 years in prison, suspending all but 12 years with three years of probation for attempted second-degree murder and a concurrent sentence of five years, without the possibility of parole, for firearm use in a felony violent crime.
Reid accepted a plea offer, which was the prosecution’s lowest offer so far, after a tense conversation with his attorney, Marci T. Johnson.
