A 46-year-old Baltimore man was found guilty of first-degree murder in a hearing on May 9.

In addition to the charge of first-degree murder, the defendant, Ricky Crenshaw, was found guilty of firearm use in a felony or violent crime, firearm possession with a felony conviction, use of an assault weapon with a magazine, and possessing a firearm without a serial number for the murder of 33-year-old Terence Cheatham.

Crenshaw is scheduled for sentencing on Aug. 15 by Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer.

According to the District Court of Maryland documents, Crenshaw shot and killed 33-year-old Cheatham following a dispute on the 2100 block of Edmondson Avenue on March 21, 2023. Baltimore Police Department (BPD) officers were dispatched to the location, where they discovered Cheatham suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.

Investigators identified a car that allegedly matched the one observed in the murder, and the vehicle was registered to Crenshaw.

During closing arguments the prosecutor told the jury it was clear that the defense alibi witness was lying during his testimony and that the evidence identifies Crenshaw as Cheatham’s killer. The prosecution reminded the jury of the 16-year-old witness who recorded the shooting, called the police and later testified at trial.
