Defendant Gets Time to Consider Possible Plea

On Feb. 6, at a status hearing before Judge Anthony F. Vittoria, defense attorney, Natalie Finegar, requested her client have time to consider a plea agreement offered by the prosecuting attorney. 

Darren Williams II, 33, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree-assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm use in a felony violent crime, having a loaded handgun in a vehicle, having a handgun in a vehicle, discharging a gun within Baltimore City, illegal possession of ammunition, firearm possession with a and felony conviction in connection to a shooting that took place Nov. 24, 2022, on the 3000 block of Lyttelton Road. 

The prosecutor’s plea offer included 25 years, suspending all but nine years, five years of supervised probation, registering as a gun offender and an order to stay away from the victim and location of the incident. 

The next hearing date is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 8 before Judge Vittoria. 

According to documents from the District Court of Maryland, the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) discovered multiple shell casings and one live round at the scene. BPD investigators obtained a search and seizure warrant for the defendant’s car following a traffic stop, which led to the alleged discovery of a weapon underneath the front passenger seat. Investigators say they were later able to link the vehicle to the scene of the crime.
