On Dec. 18, Derby Manor Drive murder co-defendant Brandi Renee Burrows appeared with her lawyer, Natalie Finegar, in front of Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Videtta A. Brown for sentencing.

After a lengthy private conversation at the bench with the attorneys, Judge Brown sentenced Burrows to life, suspending all but 20 years, with five years of supervised probation for first-degree murder. In addition to the homicide she was sentenced to 15 years, with the first five years without the possibility of parole, for illegal possession of a regulated firearm. Upon release, 27-year-old Burrows will serve five years of supervised probation and register as a gun offender.

It was immediately unclear if the sentences were to run concurrently or consecutively.

According to charging documents, on June 18, 2021, 24-year-old Tyrell Johnson-Woods was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the head and torso on the 3800 block of Derby Manor Drive. The victim was robbed of his belongings. A witness identified Burrows as one of the suspects in the case.

In September 2022, Burrows pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in connection to the death of Johnson-Woods.

There are three more co-defendants in this case: 31-year-old Lundyne Oldes, 19-year-old Freedom Brown and 27-year-old Devon Pailin. After agreeing to plead guilty in July, Oldes was sentenced to life, suspending all but 20 years and five years of supervised probation for the first-degree murder in November
Brown and Pailin were acquitted of all murder and weapons charges in connection to the fatal shooting.
