Armed Robbery, Attempted Murder Defendant Rejects Plea Offer

On Dec. 4, a 33-year-old attempted murder defendant rejected a plea offer before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.

Kimani Johnson is charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, firearm use in a felony violent crime, conspiracy to use a firearm in a felony violent crime, firearm possession with a felony conviction and discharging a firearm within Baltimore City in connection to a June 16 incident.

The stand-in prosecution offered Johnson 90 years, suspending all but 50 years, the first 25 years without the possibility of parole, for attempted first-degree murder and a concurrent 15 years for attempted armed robbery. The offer also required that Johnson serve five years of supervised probation and register as a gun offender. Johnson rejected the offer.

Johnson and his attorney Roland Harris will appear at trial before Judge John A. Howard on March 20, 2024.
