On Nov. 9, a Baltimore resident facing assault charges had her case nolle pros by the prosecutor before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
“I exhausted all of my ability to obtain the victim’s presence in court,” the prosecutor told the court on Wednesday.
Shymya Stogdon, 32, was charged with first and second-degree assault and discharging a firearm in connection to an incident on May 12, 2022.
According to court documents, on the day of the incident, officers were called to the 1700 block of E. Belvedere Avenue for reports of an aggravated assault. On arrival, the officer spoke with the defendant, who informed him that she and the victim got into an argument because she had gone through his phone.
The defendant said he became hostile, at which time she took out her gun and fired one shot in the victim’s direction.
