A Baltimore man accused of first-degree murder of 56-year-old Bernard Jackson II had his case nolle pros by the assistant state’s attorney on March 3 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Lawrence Daniels.
The prosecution entered a nolle pros on all charges against defendant Clifton Hodges.
On March 3, sources confirmed that the primary witness had passed away, and the case was no longer “viable” to prosecutors.
According to CBS News Baltimore, Hodges allegedly shot Jackson multiple times during a dispute in the 3600 block of West Lexington Street on June 12, 2022.
Hodges, 48, was charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, having a handgun on his person, and illegal possession of a regulated firearm in connection to murder of Jackson.
On Nov, 10, 2022, during a reception court hearing, Hodges and his defense attorney Gary Proctor rejected a plea of life, suspending all but 40 years with five years of probation for first-degree murder.
