A Baltimore man’s jury trial for attempted murder was pushed until April 2023 after the prosecution informed the court that another case proceeded to trial in their scheduled courtroom.
Christopher Williams, 56, is accused of firing a gun in the air during a dispute with his neighbor over a parking spot. The verbal disagreement about the placement of a parking cone near the defendant’s residence occurred on March 27.
Williams is charged with multiple counts of attempted murder, assault, and several weapons charges.
During reception court on Dec. 13, defense attorney Angela Shelton said a second reason for a postponement request was that she recently received new discovery and has not had the opportunity to review it or go over it with her client.
The prosecution also briefly discussed a plea offer of life, suspending all but 30 years, but did not disclose the corresponding charges. The defense counsel did not acknowledge this offer.
Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn scheduled Williams’ trial for April 20, 2023, before Judge Lynn Mays.
