On Sept. 16, a middle-aged Baltimore man rejected a plea of life, suspending all but 50 years I prison, before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Christopher Williams, 56, is charged with multiple counts of attempted murder and assault as well as reckless endangerment and four firearms charges in connection to an incident on March 27.
The prosecutor presented a plea of life suspending all but 50 years for first-degree attempted murder; life suspending all but 40 years for attempted second-degree murder; 20 years, with the first five years without parole, for use of a firearm during a felony violent crime; 15 years, suspending all but five years without parole, and 5 years on probation for possession of a firearm with a felony conviction. The charges are set to run concurrently.
Under the plea, the defendant must stay away from the victim and register as a gun offender.
Williams and his defense attorney Angela Shelton, rejected the plea.
Williams’ trial is scheduled for Dec. 13. It is expected to last three days.
