A 31-year-old man accused of attempted first-degree murder rejected a plea of 20 years with three years probation on Feb. 2 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn.
Devon Ricardo Murray Jr. is charged with first and second-degree attempted murder, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and use of a firearm during a violent crime in connection to an incident on Sept. 25, 2019.
On Wednesday, Judge Phinn listened as the prosecutor presented a plea of 35 years suspending all but 20 years, with three years probation for first-degree attempted murder, and five years without parole for reckless endangerment. The charges are set to run concurrently.
Murray and his defense attorney, Janine Meckler, rejected the plea.
Murray’s trial is scheduled for Dec. 2 with Judge Yvette Bryant presiding.
