Jury selection began on March 23 for the trial of Antonio Grant, 37, a man charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault and four firearm violations.
Grant was arrested in connection to a May 5, 2025 shooting that occurred on the 2800 block of Edmondson Avenue and left two victims injured.
On Monday, Grant was offered a plea deal of 45 years, suspending all but 20 without parole and five years of supervised probation. Defense attorney Koryn High rejected the offer on behalf of her client.
Pretrial motions were filed by the prosecution to amend the jury selection questions. A proposed question asked jurors if there was anything that they think would make them unfit to serve on a jury. Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Videtta A. Brown adjusted the question, instead asking jurors if they had a circumstance not previously mentioned that would make it impossible to serve on a jury, and approved the motion.
Jury selection is scheduled to continue on March 24.
