Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland granted a trial postponement for defendant Dallas Bishop, 24, on July 21.

Following a mutual agreement between the defense and prosecution, Bishop’s new trial will begin on Dec. 15.

Bishop is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count each of second-degree murder, firearm use in a felony violent crime, and having a loaded handgun on his person in connection with the fatal shooting of Christian Leight, 24, on the 1100 block of Marshal Street.

The prosecution offered Bishop an amended plea of 40 years – 20 less than the original offer of 60. Defense attorney Andre Mahasa rejected the offer on behalf of Bishop.

According to charging documents, Bishop was seen on video around the time of the shooting and was identified by witnesses.
