A motions hearing was held on July 18 regarding evidence against Reginald Raysor, 33, who faces 14 charges related to two violent altercations from 2024. Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Yvette M. Bryant presided over the hearing.

Raysor is charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, armed robbery, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, reckless endangerment, and related firearm violations for his alleged crimes.

The counts stem from an altercation on Sept. 28, 2024, when Raysor allegedly robbed a sex worker of $60 after sexual acts were performed on the 2400 block of Guilford Avenue. During the robbery, the victim allegedly attempted to flee, and Raysor fired multiple shots at her and another woman. The victim later identified Raysor in a photographic array, recalling his distinctive tattoos and describing him as someone she would “never forget.”

Two weeks later, another robbery of approximately $148 occurred near a pizza shop. Surveillance footage captured a man in the vicinity who appeared similar to Raysor. Police responders located a satchel at the shop that contained a firearm. Forensic testing linked Raysor’s DNA that was found on the gun, which was later connected to the Guilford Avenue shooting through ballistic evidence.

The prosecution presented DNA evidence, ballistic testing and surveillance footage to support their case, while defense attorney Jerry Rodriguez challenged the victim’s identification and questioned the reliability of the DNA evidence, citing other possible contributors.

Judge Bryant ultimately determined the case requires further analysis. Raysor is currently scheduled to proceed in a trial for his firearm possession charges on July 30. The remaining charges are slated for trial beginning September 9.
