A murder trial for Keith Morris, 32, was postponed due to counsel experiencing medical issues on April 21. Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland reset Morris’ trial date to May 2 after he rejected a plea offer.
Morris is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and single counts of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, firearm use in a violent crime, and related firearm violations in connection to the Sept. 21, 2024 fatal shooting of George Massey III in the 5100 block of Park Heights Avenue.
For the first four charges, the prosecution offered Morris a sentence of life, suspending all but 50 years, with no probation for the first five years. Morris and defense attorney Jason P. Rodriguez rejected the offer.
The prosecution will discuss witness availability dates in May. Judge Copeland previously postponed Morris’ trial on March 7 to allow the prosecution time to receive DNA analysis results and review footage from over 35 body-worn cameras.
