Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland scheduled a weeklong jury trial for double-homicide defendant Dandre Woods-Bethel, 28, on March 3.
Woods-Bethel is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, five counts of firearm use in a felony or violent crime, three counts of attempted first-degree murder, and one count of having a handgun on his person.
According to court records, Woods-Bethel called the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) on Sept. 12, 2020 to confess to a shooting.
Upon arrival at the 2800 block of Clifton Park Terrace, officers noticed not one, but two victims – Julie Rice, 46, and Michelle Green, 23 – lying on the front porch of the scene and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Both were transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.
Woods-Bethel, who was found incompetent to stand trial multiple times since 2020, is slated for trial beginning June 5 alongside defense attorney Maureen O’Leary.
