A convicted homicide defendant received a new court date for a related crime before Judge Melissa K. Copeland in an Oct. 25 hearing.

Reginald Whitaker, 29, is facing 14 charges, including attempted first and second-degree murder, theft of less than $100, firearm possession with a felony convict, carrying a handgun on a person, two counts of first-degree assault, the firearm used in a felony violent crime, armed robbery and robbery.

Whitaker is said to have committed the crimes in Fells Point, when he allegedly shot two people within 45 minutes. He has been convicted of killing Traquarn Lewis on the 2000 block of Fleet Street on July 3, 2023.

Less than 15 minutes later, Whitaker arrived at the intersection of South Wolfe and Gough streets, where he allegedly robbed and shot a second victim in the leg and abdomen.

In addition to a life sentence for the homicide, Whitaker also has the pending second case for the non-fatal shooting.

Defense Attorney Staci Pipkin was recently given the case. She will represent Whitaker at his next reception court date scheduled on Dec.11 to determine whether they need to have a motions hearing.
