A Baltimore man accused of homicide was offered a plea deal on Nov. 2 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn.
Singleton Duppins, 21, is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in a violent crime, two counts of second-degree assault, and possession of a firearm as a minor in connection to an incident on Feb. 28, 2020.
On Tuesday, Judge Phinn listened as the prosecution presented a plea of life, suspending all but 50 years, with five years of supervised probation for first-degree murder, and 20 years, the first five years consecutive, for use of a firearm in a violent crime.
Duppins and his defense attorney, Landon White, have not decided whether to accept the plea. In addition, Duppins is awaiting a mental health evaluation.
According to the Baltimore Sun, around 10:54 p.m. on Feb. 28, 2020, police were called to the 2500 block of Gibbons Avenue and found Graham Blake with a gunshot wound to the back of the head.
Duppins’ case was rescheduled for reception court on Jan. 25, 2022, to discuss his mental health evaluation.
