A 38-year-old Baltimore man pleaded guilty to a 2023 shooting in Baltimore City Circuit Court Wednesday.

Darryl Davis pleaded guilty to first-degree assault and firearm use in a felony violent crime in front of Judge Althea M. Handy on May 22.

Davis was charged with attempted second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, two counts of firearm use in a felony violent crime, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, firearm possession with a felony conviction, having a firearm on his person, and firing and discharging.

Davis, accompanied by defense attorney Christopher O’Meara, took a plea deal, which allowed him to plead guilty to only first-degree assault and firearm use in a felony violent crime. He was sentenced to eight years for first-degree assault and a concurrent five years without the possibility of parole for firearm use in a felony violent crime.

According to a Baltimore Police Department press release, a 41-year-old woman was found shot on the 1900 block of Windsor Avenue on June 20, 2023. Police arrested Davis on Oct. 28 last year.
