Western District Officers Investigating Non-Fatal Shooting on West Baltimore Street

The Baltimore Police Department (BPD) is looking for answers regarding the non-fatal shooting of a 17-year-old male on Jan. 2.

On Monday, at approximately 4:22 p.m., Western District patrol officers responded to the 1800 block of West Baltimore Street for a ShotSpotter alert.  

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a single-vehicle accident with the vehicle listed as stolen from outside the jurisdiction of Baltimore. The vehicle’s interior was stained with blood. 

A short while later, a 17-year-old male victim, entered a nearby hospital to seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to his left hand. The victim’s wounds are not life-threatening. 

Preliminary investigation revealed the victim was inside the stolen vehicle when he was shot. 

Western District shooting detectives responded to the scene and assumed control over the investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives at 410-396-2477.
