A 29-year-old Baltimore man rejected an assistant state’s attorney’s plea offer of eight years in connection to an attempted homicide in September 2021.
On March 21, Jerrod Jones was scheduled for trial on Sept. 29 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Charles J. Peters after rejecting the prosecution’s plea of 25 years, suspending all but eight years, and five years of supervised probation for attempted second-degree murder and a concurrent five years without parole for firearm use in a felony violent crime.
The plea also required Jones to register as a gun offender.
The prosecution and defense attorney Rodney Gray agreed that the trial would last two days.
