Two Cases Scheduled But Never Called

Two separate cases for an alleged murder and a non-fatal shooting were not called during reception court on Oct. 1 at Baltimore City Circuit Court, despite being scheduled on the docket. 

Baltimore resident Sade Thompson, 30, was scheduled to have her case heard before Judge Melissa M. Phinn on Friday; however, the case was never called. 

Thompson is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, firearm use in a violent crime, conspiracy to carry a handgun, accessory after the fact, making a false statement to an officer, causing a false statement to be made to an officer, and obstructing and hindering a police officer.

Thompson is represented by Brandon Mead and no hearings are currently scheduled for Black’s case, according to the Maryland Judiciary website.  

Another Baltimore resident, Joseph Black, was also scheduled for reception court but went unheard. 

The 35-year-old is charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault; two counts of second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, use of a firearm in a violent crime, conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, conspiracy to use a firearm in a violent crime, having a handgun on his person, using a handgun in a vehicle, firing a gun within the city, illegal possession of ammunition; and eight counts of firearm possession with a felony conviction, stealing a pistol, as well as 30 traffic violations. 

Black is represented by Thomas Rafter and no hearings are currently scheduled for Black’s case, according to the Maryland Judiciary website.
