Trial Underway in Northwest Baltimore Gas Station Shooting

On June 9, trial proceedings began for defendant Travis Maynor, with four witnesses summoned to the stand before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Yolanda A. Tanner.

Maynor, represented by defense Andre Mahasa, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, armed robbery and firearm use in a felony violent crime

According to court documents, shortly after 10:15 p.m. on Aug. 20, 2024, police responded to a Carroll Motor Fuels gas station on the 4100 block of Patterson Avenue and found a 28-year-old male victim suffering from several gunshot wounds to his face, chest, right thigh and upper back.

Surveillance footage showed two masked suspects exiting a black Acura TL sedan with temporary Virginia tags opening fire on the victim and then fleeing the scene.

Investigators reportedly linked Maynor to the shooting using surveillance footage, ballistic evidence and cellphone records.

During witness testimony, it was revealed that the defendant’s wife’s car was reportedly at the scene of the crime. Additionally, police recovered a 9mm handgun from the back seat of the car. A learner permit belonging to the defendant was also allegedly found in the car.

Further testimony revealed that during the initial interview between the defendant and a police detective, the defendant was said to make several calls to different people despite claiming that he immediately called his wife when he was shot.

Trial set to continue on June 10.
