The trial of a Baltimore man accused of attempted murder was postponed on Nov. 29 until mid-February 2022 due to counsels’ conflicting schedules.
Corey Pointer, 25, is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder as well as 11 other charges, including armed robbery, discharging firearms, and use of a firearm in the commission of a crime.
On Monday, the prosecution requested a postponement before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn and defense attorney Lawrence Rosenberg. Counsel agreed on a new trial date of Feb. 22, which Judge Phinn approved.
Pointer is accused of shooting a woman who allegedly owed him $40 on the 500 block of Normandy Avenue on March 22. The victim was walking away after an argument with Pointer when he allegedly stole her backpack and fired a gun.
The defendant previously rejected a plea offer for attempted first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a crime in October.
