A trial for a 17-year-old attempted murder defendant was scheduled before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn on Sept. 30.
Prosecutors informed Judge Phinn that a request to have the case heard in juvenile court was sent to Judge Sylvester B. Cox, but the request had yet to be reviewed.
Jeremiah Jackson is charged with attempted first and second-degree murder, first and second-degree assault, use of a firearm in a felony violent crime, possession of a firearm as a minor, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, having a handgun on his person, discharging firearms and the illegal possession of ammo.
The defendant choose to waive his Oct. 2 Hick’s date, which is his right to be tried within 180 days of his or his attorney’s first court appearance.
Judge Phinn scheduled Jackson’s trial date for Feb. 6, 2023, before Judge Lynn Stewart Mays. The trial is expected to last five days.
