Trial Date Set for Defendant Charged in Saint Clair Crossing Attempted Murder Case

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn set the trial date for a defendant accused of attempted first-degree murder in Nov. 2022.

Defense attorney Augustine Okeke represented Carla Hardy before Judge Phinn on Sept. 5. The prosecution offered a plea deal of life suspending all but 25 years with supervision probation for count one. The offer also included five years for count eight without parole, and 20 years for count 19, both to run concurrent with the first count. The defense rejected the offer. 

The trial is scheduled to take place on Oct. 16, with Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Dana M. Middleton is set to preside over the case.

According to documents from the District Court of Maryland, Hardy, 43, was charged with 32 counts, including three counts of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, three counts of attempted second-degree murder, three counts of first-degree assault, three counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree assault, three counts of second-degree assault, three counts of conspiracy to commit second-degree assault, three counts of firearm use in a felony violent crime, three counts of conspiracy to use a firearm, reckless endangerment, carrying handgun on their person, conspiracy to carry a handgun on her person, possessing a handgun in her vehicle and, possessing a handgun in her vehicle on a public road. 

Hardy was charged in relation to an incident that occurred on the 4000 block of Saint Clair Crossing on Nov. 29, 2022. According to District Court of Maryland documents, Hardy committed a criminal act alongside Freddie Fordham against two Baltimore City residents.
