“Ray Glasgow, didn’t know that day would be his last,” the assistant state’s prosecutor said to a jury on Jan. 18 during opening statements in the case against defendant Eric Jackson.

Defense counsel Lawrence Rosenberg stated that innocent people were shot in broad daylight, but it wasn’t at the hands of the defendant.

Rosenberg asked jurors to listen very closely to the evidence presented by the prosecution. He said the prosecutor would not be able to prove that the defendant had any knowledge that the incident would take place.

According to court documents, on the day of the incident, officers were called to the 1800 block of S. Eden Street for reports of a shooting. On arrival, officers found two black male victims suffering from a gunshot outside and inside a 2009 Honda Accord.

Glasco, 17, and another victim, were both taken to John Hopkins Hospital, where Glasco succumbed to his injuries and the other victim was being treated for their injuries.

Jackson, 37, is charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, the use of a firearm during a felony violent crime, and possession of a firearm with a felony conviction in connection to an incident on May 5, 2018, alongside his co-defendants Bradley Mitchell and Shawn Little

Before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer the prosecutor told jurors they would see surveillance footage, hear testimony from witnesses as well as testimony from Little.

Jackson’s trial is set to continue on Jan. 19.
