Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland granted yet another trial postponement for 29-year-old Wayne Coleman on Feb. 11–this time because Coleman’s defense attorney was absent.

Coleman faces charges in connection to a non-fatal shooting that occurred on March 19, 2024, including two counts each of attempted first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, firearm use in a felony or violent crime, and reckless endangerment. He also faces seven various firearm-related counts, including illegal possession.

Judge Copeland noted the case had already been delayed several times and told those present, “Clear your calendars.” She emphasized that this would be the final postponement she would grant.

“This case is going to run too long,” she said.

The earliest possible trial date is scheduled for March 6, and the proceeding will run four days before Judge Michael A. DiPietro

The case was transferred from Judge Hope Tipton’s courtroom.
