Third Garrison Boulevard Murder Trial Postponed For Absent Prosecutor

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa K. Copeland granted a postponement in murder suspect Timothy Knott’s retrial on July 2 for lack of a prosecutor.

Knott, 29, is charged with first-degree murder, assault and four gun violations in connection to the April 29, 2024 shooting of Anthony Pearson and an unnamed woman on the 4700 block of Garrison Boulevard.

The morning of the incident, both victims were transported from the scene to a nearby hospital, where Pearson, 42, later died. The woman survived the incident with a graze wound and refused medical attention. Officers also noted she appeared “incoherent and under the influence of unknown substance” at the time.

Surveillance footage allegedly shows Knott parking a red 2003 Chrysler minivan near the scene, walking toward Garrison Boulevard and firing a gun before driving away. According to investigators, Knott’s cellphone pinged a nearby cellular tower around the area and time of the shooting.

During questioning by detectives, Knott initially denied driving the Chrysler to the scene, claiming it had been at a repair shop and that he retrieved it later that night around 7:30 p.m. After attempting to suggest mechanics drove it to the scene, Knott reportedly admitted he retrieved the car from the shop several hours before the shooting occurred.

Knott has been tried twice on these charges, though both trials were declared mistrials.

A third trial is set to begin on Sept. 22 before Judge Robert K. Taylor, spanning four days.
