Cynthia Eapen

Cynthia Eapen is a senior at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she studies Criminology and Criminal Justice with a minor in Law and Society. Prior to her time at the University of Maryland, she was an intern with the Montgomery County State Attorney’s Office, where she assisted prosecutors with a variety of cases and maintained contact with victims. Through this experience, she gained valuable information about the Maryland court system and background on several proceedings.

Within her undergraduate experience, Eapen worked closely with an attorney at a private law firm in Greenbelt, Maryland where she conducted research assistance and provided case updates for clients. This was a significant part of her legal experience as it gave her hands-on experience working on various documents for court. Her experience here formally prepared her to experience a moot court advocacy course at the university which entailed writing briefs and performing oral arguments.

Eapen has plans to graduate from the University of Maryland and start law school shortly after. She aspires to become a lawyer, specializing in criminal law, and provide counsel to those who are less fortunate.
