Suspect Arrested for Attempted Murder Six Months After Incident

A 23-year-old man was arrested last Tuesday in connection to the non-fatal shooting of a 26-year-old man in January.

According to a press release, detectives arrested Kerron Moore on June 15 while he was being detained in central booking. He is charged with first-degree attempted murder.

Moore allegedly shot the victim on Jan. 21. at the corner of Payson and Lexington Streets. The shooting is believed to be motivated by robbery.

He has been held without bail since March 2021 for a separate armed carjacking. He is also charged with carjacking, armed robbery, robbery, first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, car theft, theft between $1,500 and $25,000, firearm use in a violent crime, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, having a handgun on his person, and having a handgun in a vehicle.

The case is scheduled for arraignment on July 30, 2021.
