Counsel on behalf of homicide defendant Christopher Straham told Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Gale E. Rasin that the defendant’s second competency evaluation had to be rescheduled because he refused to meet with the evaluator.

Christopher Straham, 24, is charged with first-degree murder, use of a deadly weapon with the intent to injure, armed robbery, and attempted armed robbery in connection to the death of Andras Horvath, who he allegedly attacked and killed on Dec. 2, 2016, around 4 p.m. on the 400 block of N. Highland Avenue.

WBAL TV reported that the victim was buying food at a nearby Popeye’s fast food restaurant at Highland Avenue and Pulaski Highway in East Baltimore, where Straham allegedly attacked, stabbed, and robbed him.

On Wednesday, counsel told Judge Rasin that the second competency evaluation would not be completed in the time designated by the court; however, it will be submitted by Dec. 15.

The second competency evaluation was ordered by Judge Rasin on Oct. 27.

Straham is scheduled for reception court on Nov. 16, according to the Maryland Judiciary website.
