Man Accused of Murder Outside New York Fried Chicken Gets August Trial Date

A 2022 murder defendant had his jury trial postponed on May 30 as his defense attorney was recently assigned to the case.  Tavon Green Jr.’s trial was set to begin Tuesday before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer Schiffer, but defense attorney Roland Harris requested a postponement, saying he was new to the case and unprepared for trial. Judge Schedules North Rose Street Homicide Defendant’s Trial for October

Homicide Defendant Rejects 50 Year Plea

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn scheduled a homicide defendant’s trial after he rejected a plea offer on May 15.  Lexus Hart and her defense counsel, Roland Harris, rejected a plea of life, suspending all but 50 years with the first five years without parole and five years of supervised probation for first-degree murder and the use of a firearm during a felony violent crime.   Hart, 28, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and the use of a firearm during a felony violent crime in connection to an incident on Jan.
