On Nov. 28, first-degree murder defendant Kenneth Craig appeared in reception court in front of Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M Phinn. Craig has not been given a plea deal by the prosecution even though his trial is pending.

Craig, 60, who is represented by defense attorney Natalie Finegar, has been charged with first-degree murder and possession of a deadly weapon with intent to injure in connection to an April 18 incident during which he allegedly killed 36-year-old Shakita Thomas.

According to a Baltimore Police Department press release, Craig allegedly stabbed Thomas to death on the 500 block of East Jeffrey Street.

Craig is scheduled to appear back in court for the start of his trial on March 20, 2024. The trial will commence in front of Judge John A. Howard
