A Baltimore City Circuit Court judge set a date for a defendant’s motion hearing a trial after the prosecutor failed to offer her a plea deal on Aug. 25 in reception court.

Defense attorney Jennifer M. Alexander told Judge Melissa M. Phinn that there is an outstanding motion for compel and joinder for Ayeshia Holland’s case as well as a possible coconspirator that has yet to be indicted.

Judge Phinn set that hearing for the afternoon of Sept. 6 before Judge Barry G. Williams.

Due to the prosecutor’s availability Judge Phinn found probable cause to go beyond Holland’s Hick’s date. This is the defendant’s right to be tried within 180 days from either of their first appearance or their attorney’s first appearance in court.

Judge Phinn set the trial date for Dec. 11 and it is expected to last five days.

Holland is charged with 54 charges including attempted murder, assault, and various weapons charges in connection to an incident that occurred on March 21.

According to the statement of charges, Holland and one of the victims were in the midst of a year’s long dispute over social media and Holland told the five victims to meet her in Fort Armistead Park to fight.

After a physical altercation in the parking lot, all parties returned to their respective vehicles when one victim stated she heard three to four gunshots and a flash coming from a vehicle. Two of the victims sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to Shock Trauma. The other victims sustained minor injuries but were not shot. One of the victims identified Holland as a suspect.
