Counsel in the case of homicide defendant Dorrell Jackson will return to Baltimore City Circuit Court in two months as the prosecution waits for an approval for a plea offer and the final piece of discovery in the death of 21-year-old Amir Whyee last December.
During reception court on April 21, the prosecution informed Judge Melissa M. Phinn that all discovery has been turned over to defense attorney William Buie III except for the full medical examiner’s file. The file has not been received by the state’s attorney’s office as of April 21.
The prosecutor also said he is waiting for the approval of a plea offer at this time.
Buie confirmed that he has received all discovery, and counsel agreed to return to reception court on June 21.
The 25-year-old defendant is accused of fatally shooting Whyee around 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 1, 2021, on the 500 block of Random Road. Baltimore Police Department officers were called to the scene where they found the victim, who was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
