A convicted murder’s hearing was postponed due to counsel needing more time on Aug. 3 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Jennifer B. Schiffer.

William Carr, 60, was convicted of first and second-degree murder, and use of a handgun while committing a crime on April 6, 2012.

Defense counsel Victoria Kawecki also informed the court she couldn’t talk to the defendant.

According to Baltimore Sun, officials said Carr approached Chong Wan Yim, 55, at the Erdman Shopping Center in the 3900 block of Erdman Avenue at about 3 p.m. on June 28, 2011, with a handgun and demanded money. The victim was carrying money from a delivery to a retailer in the busy shopping center.

Carr’s next hearing has yet to be determined.
