In reference to the shooting that occurred in the Northeast District on Feb. 19, Baltimore Police Department detectives have arrested 27-year-old Michael Armstrong of Cockeysville, Md.

Detectives learned that Armstrong shot the 42-year-old female victim while on the 4500 block of Powell Avenue. The victim then drove to the 4500 block of Parkmont Avenue, where she crashed her vehicle.

Detectives say that this was not a random shooting. Armstrong targeted the female victim as a result of a dispute.

With the assistance of witnesses, officers were able to quickly identify the suspect, locating him on the 6000 block of Belair Road.

Detectives transported Michael Armstrong to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with attempted first-degree murder.
