On May 25, 2024, at around 3:42 p.m., Baltimore Police Department officers responded to the 900 block of North Dukeland Street to investigate a ShotSpotter alert.
Upon arrival, officers observed a 17-year-old Denzel Johnson suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Upon further canvassing, officers located a 15-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. Both victims were transported to an area hospital, where the Johnson was pronounced deceased and the 15-year-old is being treated for his injury.
Homicide detectives responded and assumed control over this investigation.
