From Friday, Aug. 12, through Sunday, Aug. 14, Baltimore City experienced 10 shooting incidents involving six homicide victims and eight non-fatal shooting victims. There were also 21 confirmed robberies.
In that same time span, officers made more than 75 arrests to include 36 aggravated assault arrests, 13 handgun violation arrests, 14 robbery arrests, three narcotics arrests and three stolen auto arrests. Additionally, five robbery warrants were issued.
“Unfortunately, we experienced another challenging and unnecessarily violent weekend in Baltimore,” said Commissioner Harrison. “The BPD is working with the Mayor’s Office, City agencies and our law enforcement partners to change the culture of violence that pervades our communities. So far this year, we have removed 1,600 illegal guns from our streets and made more than 1,000 gun arrests and we will continue to do so. The Department is diligently working to hold those who commit these acts responsible for their crimes.”
Anyone with information related to a crime is asked to call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7-LOCKUP or contact our Homicide Unit at 410-396-2100.
