Northern District Officers Launch Shooting Homicide Investigation

On March 3, at approximately 7:42 a.m., Northern District patrol officers with the Baltimore Police Department (BPD) responded to the 3000 block of Greenmount Avenue for a report of a shooting.

Once in the area, officers located 20-year-old Khiree Austin on the 500 block of East 30th Street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he has immediately been taken into surgery.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was inside of a business in the 3000 block of Greenmount Avenue, when an unidentified gunman entered the location, shooting Austin multiple times.

Homicide detectives were notified and the victim died from his injuries later that day.
