Non-Fatal Shooting Defendant Sentencing Postponed For Third Time

On Feb. 2, sentencing for a man convicted of a shooting that occurred some two years ago in Madison Park, West Baltimore, was postponed for the third time.

Wardell Richardson, 45, is charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, having a handgun on his person,firearm use in a felony violent crime, discharging a gun within Baltimore City and for the possession of a firearm with a felony conviction.

Richardson was found guilty of all charges mentioned except attempted first-degree murder and is again awaiting his sentencing after a third postponement. The initial postponement date was set for Jan. 19.

Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Erik S. Atas informed Baltimore Witness the sentencing was now postponed to March 4.
According to previous coverage, Richardson fired two shots at the victim, which resulted in the victim firing back, hitting Richardson in the leg. The incident occurred on March 23, 2022, near the 300 block of Bloom Street and 2000 block of Eutaw Place.
