Non-fatal Shooting Defendant Rejects Plea, Proceeds to September Trial

Non-fatal shooting defendant rejected a plea in relation to a non-fatal shooting that occurred in January 2020 before Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Melissa M. Phinn

The defendant is charged with possession of a firearm with a felony conviction, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, having a handgun on his person, discharging firearms, and illegal possession of ammo. 

The prosecutor presented a plea of three years for possession of a firearm with a felony conviction. 

Babik was represented by defense attorney Gregory Fischer, who is a stand-in for Jason Rodriguez. 

Babik’s trial is scheduled for Sept. 9. Counsel expects the trial to last two days.
